這是一張向貝斯手Oscar Pettiford致敬的專輯，集結北歐丹麥最傑出的爵士樂手的共同演出，錄製於一九六零年，也是丹麥爵士樂史上第一張以LP格式發行的專輯！專輯的主角是丹麥鋼琴手Bent Axen，錄製時年三十五歲，搭檔另位二十五歲的薩克斯風手Bent Jaedig，原始專輯名稱是由Bent Axen領銜，以三重奏、五重奏和六重奏等三種編制分別灌錄，在美籍貝斯手Oscar Pettiford因病早逝的一個月內，以紀念專輯型態進錄音室依編制不同分成三天灌錄。
專輯成員除Bent Axen和Bent Jaedig，還包括薩克斯風手Frank Jensen、小喇叭手Allan Botschinsky、貝斯手Erik Mølbach，及鼓手Jørn Elniff，其中Bent Axen、Bent Jaedig和Allan Botschinsky等人是樂團「Jazz Quintet-60」的固定成員。
受到致敬的貝斯手Oscar Pettiford，一九二二年生於美國奧克拉荷馬州，十四歲開始學貝斯，一九四三年開始加入Charlie Barnet的樂團，之後陸續和Duke Ellington、Woody Herman的樂團合作，並被視為把大提琴（cello）帶入爵士樂拉奏的第一人，一九五八年移居北歐丹麥哥本哈根，但不幸隨即在一九六零年九月因感染類 小兒麻痺病毒於當地過世，享年僅三十九歲。
由於丹麥當地樂手在一九五零年代後，陸續與多位美陸樂手因歐陸巡迴，或是移居等機緣開始有長期互動影響，除了Oscar Pettiford，知名薩克斯風手Stan Getz也在一九五八年移居丹麥哥本哈根，之後還有薩克斯風手Sahib Shihab、Dexter Gordon及 Ben Webster，及鋼琴手Kenny Drew等人，這股移居風潮持續到七零年代，像是鋼琴手Duke Jordan、Horace Parlan及打擊樂手Ed Thigpen等人，作為移居第一代的Oscar Pettiford的早逝，自然引發當地樂手的追思。
錄製這張專輯的時候，領銜之一的鋼琴手Bent Axen才三十五歲，一九六零年初才獲得丹麥年度爵士樂手的肯定，能彈奏並擅長作曲、編曲的他，在專輯八首作品中，獨自貢獻了五首，還包括專輯同名作品 〈Let’s Keep The Message〉，以及〈To Iskol’s Hof〉、〈Elansky〉及〈Sivle〉等。
專輯另位要角、薩克斯風手Bent Jaedig，是專輯中第二年輕的樂手，但有過持續在歐陸多國闖蕩經驗，並與德國知名伸縮號手Albert Mangelsdorff五重奏合作，有著Sonny Rollings、Benny Golson及John Coltrane的融合風格，多次返回丹麥短暫停留期間，都與故鄉的樂手留下不少錄音。
當然畢業自丹麥皇家音樂院，並留學美國曼哈頓音樂學院的小喇叭手Allan Botschinsky，並在一九五七年就籌組丹麥爵士樂史上最重要樂團之一的「Jazz Quintet 60」，他自己則是在一九六三年獲得丹麥年度爵士樂手殊榮。
另外貝斯手Erik Mølbach及當時才二十二歲的鼓手Jørn Elniff，則是與鋼琴手Bent Axen，在一九六一年美國單簧管樂手Eric Dolphy巡迴歐陸時，肩負搭檔樂手重責，實力可見。
整張致敬紀念專輯共八首作品，除了Bent Axen的原創五首，他並獨自挑選了另外三首作品，包括為紀念Oscar Pettiford早年曾與Duke Ellington合作的情誼，特別選錄Duke Ellington的藍調作品〈Things Ain’t What They Used To Be〉，以及Tadd Dameron的〈Lady Bird〉及Don Raye與Gene De Paul的名曲〈Star Eyes〉，藉由三種不同的編制與曲風表達對Oscar Pettiford早逝的不捨。
由於這張專輯先前僅以合輯的形式，在鋼琴手Bent Axen名下發行過一次，二手市場上當年的LP原盤已有二十萬元日幣以上的驚人行情，此次首度發行CD版本，日本市場更由知名的Disk Union搭配發行重達兩百克的LP版本，預定十月二十四日正式發售，已在日本當地引發熱烈討論。
台灣引進的是委由丹麥SteepleChase Studio以原始母帶轉錄、重新混音的版本，CD更是直接在當地壓片生產，音質效果將是無可取代的經典版本。
